Most hiring decisions rely on gut feel.
A CV tells you what someone has done. An interview tells you how they present. Neither tells you whether they are genuinely wired for the role — and whether they will thrive in your team’s communication environment.
Most organisations only define what they want in a candidate after they start looking. By then it is too late — you are already comparing against nothing. Hire Right flips that process.
LinkedIn research found that 83% of candidates say a negative interview experience can change their mind about a role or a company. The way you hire sends a signal before anyone starts. Source: LinkedIn Talent Trends Report
Define the role before you define the candidate.
Hire Right uses DISC to build a benchmark of the ideal person for the role — based on what the role actually demands, not just what sounds good in a job ad.
Then it compares your shortlisted candidates against that benchmark — across 1440 data points — and gives you targeted interview questions built from the gaps.
The organisations that consistently get hiring right do one thing differently. They define what good looks like before they start looking — and they measure every candidate against that standard.
The process
Four steps to hiring with confidence
01
Role benchmark
Lynn builds a DISC profile of the ideal person for the role before you advertise. This becomes your benchmark.
02
Candidate assessment
Your shortlisted candidates complete their own DISC profile. Fast, non-intrusive, and highly revealing.
03
Gap analysis
A 1440-point comparison between each candidate and the benchmark shows exactly where the gaps are — and what they mean for the role.
04
Interview report
Targeted interview questions built directly from the gap report. Not generic questions — specific probes designed to surface what you actually need to know.
What you get
A complete hiring toolkit — not just a report.
Everything you need to make a confident, informed decision — built around your specific role, your specific candidates, and your specific team.
Role benchmark report
The DISC profile of your ideal hire for this specific role — built before you look at a single candidate.
Candidate comparison
Side-by-side gap analysis across 1440 data points per candidate. Clear, visual, and immediately actionable.
Interview question set
Targeted questions built specifically from the gap report — designed to surface what you actually need to know about each candidate. Not generic questions. Specific probes built from the gaps.
Debrief with Lynn
Lynn walks you through the results in a session of up to an hour — included in the set-up investment. You leave with reports and targeted interview questions ready to use.
The report
Four dimensions. One clear picture.
Most assessments look at one thing. This report gives you four — each adding a layer of understanding that helps you ask better questions and make a confident call.
DISC
Communication style, behaviour, how they make decisions and respond under pressure.
Teams
How they think in a group — Theorist, Executor, Analyser, Manager or Strategist.
Values
The hidden motivators — Loyalty, Equivalence, Personal Freedom, and Justice.
Behavioural Attitudes
Unconscious drivers that shape every decision and predict long-term fit in the role.
If the candidate you hire goes on to join the team, the benchmark assessment can be converted into a full DISC report — giving you a powerful communication and onboarding tool from day one.
Who it is for
This is the right process if any of these sound familiar.
Hire Right is built for organisations making hires where getting it wrong is not an option. Senior roles, leadership positions, or any role where communication style and cultural fit matter as much as technical skill.
- ✓ You have been burned by a hire that looked great on paper
- ✓ A key role is open and getting it wrong is not an option
- ✓ You are hiring for culture fit as much as technical skill
- ✓ You want candidates measured against a clear standard, not gut feel
- ✓ You want interview questions built from actual data, not a generic list
- ✓ You want to protect staff retention from the very first hire

Lynn Rolston
DISC Specialist and Leadership Coach
Lynn has spent over seven years working with leaders and teams who want to communicate better, connect more genuinely, and build the kind of trust that makes a team worth being part of.
Her background is in sales and education. She spent years as Branch Development Manager for Thermomix NZ, designing and delivering training to consultants and team leaders across the country — a role that gave her a frontline view of what communication looks like under real pressure, and what happens to teams when it breaks down.
Since joining the Maxwell Leadership certified team in 2018, she has specialised in the Maxwell Method of DISC applied through a leadership lens. The results tend to show up quickly: in meetings that run better, in relationships that feel less complicated, and in leaders who stop wondering why the same conversations keep going sideways.
Lynn describes herself as an introvert who genuinely loves people. She listens well, asks the right questions, and creates the kind of space where people say the things they have not known how to say before.
