Stop Chasing Every Ball™. Build a Team That Doesn’t Need You To.
A 12-week live online leadership coaching programme, delivered from Auckland, open to managers anywhere who are ready to stop firefighting and start leading.
You were promoted because you were the best at the job. Now you’re the first person everyone comes to, with every problem, every question, every decision. That’s not leadership. That’s being the busiest player on the field.
Good at the Job. Not Yet Leading the People.
Most managers didn’t get training for this. They got a promotion, a new title, and the same instincts that made them good individually. Those instincts are now the problem.
- You’re the first person everyone comes to, for everything.
- You’re making decisions your team could be making themselves.
- Every “quick question” costs you another hour of your day.
- You know delegating would help, but every time you hand something over it comes back wrong, so you take it back.
- You’re leading harder than ever and somehow still feel like the bottleneck.
None of that means you’re bad at this. It means you’re playing the wrong position.
Stop Chasing Every Ball™
Picture a team of eight-year-olds playing football. Everyone chases the ball. Nobody holds their position, nobody reads the play, and the fastest kid on the field ends up exhausted, having touched the ball forty times while everyone else touched it twice.
That’s most managers. Every problem that lands on the team becomes something you chase down and solve yourself. It feels like leadership. It’s actually the opposite. Every ball you chase is a touch your team doesn’t get, a decision they don’t get to practise, a chance to grow that you’ve just taken off them.
Great leadership isn’t catching every ball. It’s building a team that can read the game and play it without you.
The Shift You’re Making
This isn’t about working harder or caring more. You’re already doing both. It’s about changing what you spend your time on.
Where you are now
- Overloaded Manager
- Problem Solver
- Firefighter
- The Bottleneck
Where this takes you
- Trusted Leader
- Coach
- Developer of People
- Builder of an Independent Team
The Transfer Framework™
Manager2Leader™ is a 12-week live group coaching programme built around one idea: everything that matters in leadership gets transferred, not retained. You can’t skip a stage, so we don’t. Three stages, four weeks each.
Create Thinking
Before you can hand anything over, your team needs to be able to think for themselves. You’ll learn to ask instead of answer, hold the silence instead of filling it, and spot exactly where you’re the bottleneck.
- See the Bottleneck
- Create Thinking (the Pause)
- Hold the Silence (the 80% Principle)
- The First Transfer
Stretch
Once your team is thinking, it’s time to stretch what they’re capable of. You’ll spot potential before your people see it in themselves, coach at the edge of their comfort zone, and build real evidence of what they can do.
- See the Potential
- Create the Stretch
- Coach the Edge
- Prove the Capability
Step Back
This is where ownership actually transfers. You’ll hand over the ball for good, check in without hovering, and leave it with them, even when it’s tempting to take it back.
- Transfer Ownership
- Check In, Don’t Hover
- Don’t Take the Ball Back
- Lead Without the Ball
What You Get
- 12 weeks of live group coaching with Andy (60 to 90 minutes, no pre-recorded filler)

- The Transfer Scorecard at Weeks 1, 6 and 12, so you can see real change, not just how you feel about it
- A small group of managers working through the same shift, learning from each other’s wins and mistakes
- Direct access to Andy across the full 12 weeks
Who Manager2Leader™ Is Built For
Manager2Leader™ is built for managers who are already good at their job and starting to feel it, and for anyone who wants to walk into their first leadership role already knowing how to play the game rather than learning on the fly. You don’t need years of experience or a big team already, just a genuine interest in leading people well.
This is for you if:
- Your team brings you problems instead of solutions
- You know you should be delegating more, but it never quite sticks
- You want to lead strategically, but most days you’re firefighting instead
- You’re not managing a team yet, but you’d rather learn this before the promotion than after it
- You’ve read the leadership books and been to the workshops, and you’re ready for something that actually changes your day-to-day

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Manager2Leader™ only for people with a formal management title?
No. It’s built for anyone leading a team, whether that’s an official title or not. If people bring you problems and wait on your decisions, this is for you.
What if I can’t make every live session?
Life happens. The programme is built around live coaching because that’s where the real change happens, so we ask for a genuine commitment to attend, but every session is recorded and posted to our private course platform, open only to Manager2Leader™ members, so you’ll never lose access to a week you miss.
How is this different from a normal leadership course?
Most leadership training gives you more theory. This gives you a practical framework, live coaching every week, and a tool you actually use the same week you learn it. It’s a practice environment, not a course.
Is it online or in person?
Live online via Zoom, not in person, so you can join from wherever you are in the world.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on when you join. Founding cohort spots are limited and priced to reward early action. Book a call with Andy and we’ll figure out the right fit and the current price.
Can I bring my whole team or organisation through this?
Yes. Manager2Leader™ also runs as a longer-format programme for organisations who want every manager working from the same framework. Pricing and structure are different to the founding cohort above, so get in touch and we’ll talk through what’s right for your team.
Bringing a Whole Team Through This?
Manager2Leader™ also runs as a longer-format programme for organisations who want every manager working from the same framework, not just one person. Format and pricing are different to the founding cohort above.
